Mission Towards Irulars
Irulars
are a primitive people live in the outskirts of Kanjalur village. Irulars are
geographically, linguistically and culturally isolated from the dominant Indian
society. They experience discrimination as they are "casteless".
Deported from traditional hunting grounds due to deforestation and urban
encroachment, the Irulas are struggling to meet their daily needs. It happened
to meet this people in the year 2016 and the heart was taken up for this
people. Yes again our service was extended to this simple people. During
Covid-19 lockdown we reached out this people with groceries and foods by the
help of good hearted people in Vellore. We helped them to get free cataract
surgery by organizing free eye camp in Kanjalur through CMC Hospital. Our
hearts move for the children the future pillar of this community. Though it’s
not possible for us to do it daily the Divine Mercy Study Centre conducts
weekly once special class for this children. Changes don't take place in a day
we keep travelling with our target people in the process of their development
and empowerment.
